ABOUT ME:
I am Dana Homesley and I am running for a seat on the Lexington District One School Board. I’ve called Lexington home since 2011. I am a graduate of Clemson University, with a major in History and a minor in Political Science. My husband, David, and I are college sweethearts and have been together for 20 years. We have a fourth grader and a first grader who attend Lexington Elementary. I am President of the PTA, a member of School Improvement Council, and an appointed member of the Town of Lexington Vision Plan Committee.
I recognize the importance of an effective school board and how the decisions they make contribute to the quality of public education. Five years ago, I began attending school board meetings, putting my time and energy into learning all I could about school board governance, policies, processes, procedures, and the laws and regulations that a school district must follow. Having faithfully attended meetings, I am ready to hit the ground running once elected to the Lexington One School Board.
I am a cofounder of the Facebook page Informed Citizens of Lexington County School District One, a page that has grown to over 6,000 followers and is committed to keeping the community informed of the news and business of the school board and the district.
I would be grateful to have your support and vote in the Special Election on June 23!
Thank you.
